Idaho Wildfire Agate

Idaho Wildfire Agate is a relatively new lapidary material from Idaho, found in the same general deposit as Idaho Sunset Agate. It is known for its incredible variety of colors and patterns, with no two pieces looking quite alike.

Origin and Character

Location: Idaho, USA, from the same locality associated with Idaho Sunset Agate.

Color: Wildly variable, ranging through deep reds, burgundy, pink, lavender, cream, greens, blues, gray, brown and black, often with several colors appearing in a single stone.

Pattern: Known for intricate fortification, plume-like and scenic patterns mixed with areas of translucent agate. Some pieces have fiery reds and oranges while others are surprisingly soft and pastel.

Status: A newer material on the lapidary market and still relatively uncommon compared with long-established American agates and jaspers. Its tremendous variation makes especially colorful or unusually patterned pieces highly desirable to collectors and cutters.

Each cabochon is individually hand cut and polished in our studio from natural material — never mass-produced or imported finished stones.
