Wood Fired Handmade Pottery Triptych Footed Vessel

I started making these triangular shaped pieces last year and they’ve become one of my staples in my inventory. Folks just seem to love them. I hope you do too. 

Made the old way in a wood fired kiln with North Carolina red clay. 

The process of wood firing goes back many centuries and can be traced back to the 5th century. One of the joys of this art medium for me is the vintage of it all. I don’t own a wood splitter, wood is cut by hand with an axe. The firing on this particular run was just short of 30 hours long. It’s hard work, but the beauty of the pieces makes it all worth it.
